Where does it all end? I was talking with Indianapolis Mortgage Broker Jim DeCamp and I think everything's going to be okay. But boy is my mind swirling.
If you read my other blogs you probably already know but my family and I are moving to Indianapolis relatively soon. We don't know where we're going to live. Like, literally. No idea. We just know it's going to be in the Indy area.
I didn't take into account my student loan debt that I've racked up all these years at med school. Apparently that comes into play when you're looking for a home loan. I guess there are some mortgages though that do not take into account any student loan debt that you may have.
So I guess we're going to look into one of these types of loans for physicians in Indianapolis. The thing that I really want to know is what type of house we are going to be able to afford. I do not want to rent - we've done that too many times. It's time for the joys of home ownership.
We're going to go look around downtown Indiainapolis soon to check it out and see if there's anything we would like to buy. There's lots of other areas in Indy that we can check out, too. It's a big city with lots of different housing opportunities, it looks like.
I was hoping for a swimming pool - always wanted a big swimming pool in the back yard. I don't really like the above-ground ones - I think the inground pools are better for your property value. I'm very excited to go house shopping in Indianapolis!
The last time I refinanced a mortgage it was long and arduous. Hopefully this time it won't be as long and drawn out. Jim told me he can finance a mortgage in 15 days - so that's about the quickest turnaround I've ever heard when it comes to closing on a home loan.
I remember being wrapped up for months waiting to close our last home mortgage, and all I can say is no thank you! 15 days sounds like a dream come true.
